Common mistakes in English – FUN or FUNNY?

This is one of the mistakes I see the most or I am asked about most.

“When should I use each one?” — I hope that this helps all of you the next time you have to choose between which one to use.

FUN

FUNNY

Adjective (“divertido” o “entretenido”) or Noun (“diversión”) = when you enjoy yourself and have a good time. Adjective (“divertido” pero en el sentido cómico o gracioso) = a situation, person or thing makes you laugh.
–       Going out with friends is FUN because you enjoy yourself and have a good time with them. –       A comedy film is FUNNY because it makes you laugh

But with people?

What should I use funny or fun?

Look at the difference in these two examples.

Ana is a fun girl. (I have a good time when I am with Ann)

Ann is a funny girl. (Ann makes me laugh)
